Restorative Practices Consultancy Projects

CDI offers flexible, evidence-based Restorative Practices consultancy, fostering cultural change and resolving conflicts for organisations and communities.

At CDI, we offer a variety of consultancy supports to organisations keen to embed Restorative Practices (RP) into their day-to-day work. Below are a few examples of recent projects that show the strength and potential of RP in action.

Oberstown Children Detention Campus

We’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Oberstown Children Detention Campus over several years. Our support has included training staff and managers in RP, helping to develop an internal team of skilled RP Trainers, and guiding the creation of a practical, sustainable RP implementation plan.

Irish Prison Service

In partnership with the Irish Prison Service, we’ve delivered RP training to Senior Managers and supported the development of a cohort of IPS Tutors as in-house RP Trainers. We also facilitate regular group supervision and reflective practice with two frontline staff teams—helping to strengthen relationships, build trust, and promote positive workplace culture.

Support Service for Teachers (Oide)

We’ve worked with Oide —the support service for teachers — training them as RP Trainers and continuing to support the quality assurance of the training they roll out. This work builds on the existing strengths of the team and supports a ripple effect of restorative approaches throughout the education system.

Ubuntu Pilot Project

As part of the Ubuntu pilot, led by Maynooth University, we delivered RP training to support a ground-breaking initiative aimed at improving relationships between An Garda Síochána and young Black Irish people through restorative dialogue circles. The final project report, which outlines the impact and potential of this work, is available here.
