Early Vision

Katherine Zappone, a founder and former Chair, played a pivotal role in establishing CDI. Katherine’s experience in developing and leading the community education centre, An Cosán, in Tallaght West, highlighted the need for innovative and targeted solutions to enhance children’s outcomes. This led to the establishment of CDI in 2007. by a funding partnership between the Irish Government and The Atlantic Philanthropies, a private foundation established by Irish-American businessman Chuck Feeney in 1982.

Presidential Commendation (2010)
